Kundalini is a vertical spiral energy, the awakening of which must start from chakra 1 (Muladhara) located in the perineum (men) and the cervix/pelvic floor (women) to reach the seventh chakra (Sahasrhara). This awakening of Kundalini energy is done with the intention of reaching spiritual enlightenment
Kundalini meditation and yoga goes beyond simple realization of thoughts. It involves contemplating thought flow without reacting. Through mantras, mudras and physical sensations you get to draw attention to yourself. With patience, gentleness and perseverance, gradually, the identification is reduced and it raises ourselves to recognizing a bright, quiet, peaceful, eternal, loving stage, where the universe appears indistinct and inseparable from the self. It also prevents emotions and thoughts that force us to see life with a deceptive and limited perspective.
A mudra in a meditation is a gesture similar to a word in language. It strengthens and reinforces a state of consciousness. The Sanskrit word ‘mantra’ means liberate your mind. It is a word with sound, which holds a physio-spiritual power. Mudras and mantras are an energy that, with time and practice will help us to evoke and awake the consciousness within us.
